Making cookies healthy. Security in a web based world

Cloud Nine

Our world has grown more complicated since cookies were first baked into web browsers as a way around state-based obstacles and sessions. In the intervening years they have held everything from unsecured administrative credentials to language preferences and even our window scroll location. But while the wild-west years of plaintext credential storage are hopefully over, they are still an ever-present and integral part of our online interactions with significant impact on our experience, both positively and negatively.

The future of these little nuggets of information looks just as busy as ever, with a myriad of more strict privacy concerns now built in and an increasingly complex network of personalization and tracking now enabled by advanced algorithms of machine learning and Big Data one thing is for certain; we are still living in The Age of The Cookie.
